Guild Day Goes International

Guild members may be aware that 2020 will mark the 75^th anniversary of UNESCO, the UN’s cultural heritage, education and social value organisation.  The Cambridge Guild is taking the theme of  ‘A World Tour of Textile Heritage’ in our programme for 2020.

The annual Guild Day in March will  feature making an African coiled platter and a ‘have a go’ session on Chinese Knotting.  In a world so rife with division, our Guild is aiming to bring people and their different textile heritages together in a spirit of lively interest and peaceful co-existence, echoing UNESCO’s founding principles.
