Sustainability & The Weaver by Alison Daykin

Do you know where your yarns have come from, what they are dyed with, and whether any harsh chemicals are involved in their production?    Award-winning weaver Alison Daykin has been researching and implementing tactics to reduce her environmental footprint and to sustainably-source her materials.  From reducing water consumption in processing to changing to all-natural dyes for her fabrics, and from careful overseas sourcing to developing local supply chains, Alison will tell us about her journey towards becoming a sustainable weaver.  Alison will also help us to open our eyes and take a good look at the fibres, materials and dyes we use ourselves.
